  1. J. C. Little says:

I’m just technophiles and gadgets that solar thin film really raise my eyebrows. In addition to the WOW factor is the practical application of the device.

I’m in the army, and two things are important to me. Motorized and easy transportation. I took Brunton solar products before, namely Solaris 25, and did a fantastic job that gives me strength, but at the expense of size and limited use of high energy efficient appliances. The Brunton Solaris 52 was the answer.

Other sunscreens say they are portable appliances. . . . but how many can actually make them work. The answer is a resounding zip. . . . zero. . . . Nada. Solaris 52 can operate the device, and provide a way into other applications. It is voltage regulated, once connected devices, while these panels can produce up to 28 volts. . . . is paired down to 12 volts for your devices.

Solaris 52 is the size of a standard manual. The folding door has a Velcro closure pocket for the three types of cables supplied with the unit and also with those cables in the front pocket device is a small profile of a backpack. The panels are applied to a thin type of waterproof canvas. It is a robust material that maintains the pattern of folding panels to create a tear is a breeze.

I tested this device on one end of time is covered. I live in Kansas, so I am not in sun-belt at the top, and I tested this device in one of the coldest months in this region. The panel has been completely folded, I plugged my individual 15, and also with much of the ceiling unit kicks promised 12 volts DC. I looked out the unit closely to see how much tinkering, I have to do to get maximum power panels. . . . answer. . . None! I was amazed at how simple, elegant and efficient device actually proved.

I continued to run tests with my voltmeter and found that on top of the 12 volts of balance, I could use the available second port adapter sector to recharge my cell phone at the same time. This additional flow was not where near what it was my Solo 15, but it was still more than enough to charge the phone very quickly.

What Brunton has produced here is a power efficient, lightweight and extremely portable to require that all maintenance of the user due to self-healing properties of CIGS cells newly developed. All units need is a little cleaning with a cloth occasionally to remove dirt or debris. . . that’s it!

The price is a short stop for most people. I understand it, but make sure you pay for quality and ensures that you get electricity wherever you need it as long as the sun in the sky. This type of insurance is actually worth its price. As CIGS technology becomes more mainstream, like her, “expects prices to fall. Or simply be informed consumers. . . . I chose the Solaris 52 Up here on Amazon for about $ A 680th steal in my opinion.

  2. Imagine being able to take power wherever you go as long as you have sunlight. It may seem a little expensive, but you really for your money. It comes with most laptops, the largest power electronics, and most of the battery charger. You can also use it to recharge your battery car or boat. Simply connect a 12V unit or connect to their jumper cables. What you need to use it as something that resembles an ordinary outlet on a device called the Solo 15, which is a lithium battery that comes with an included AC / DC converter. Together, these facilities should be less than 10 pounds.

To see if this device will be sufficient to run your laptop with a net positive charge, calculating power of your laptop. My laptop is an old Dell Inspiron 1100, ending 20 volts 5 amps & 4th. Thus, the formula to calculate watts (volts x amps = watts) who told me that my laptop requires 90 watts. That means I will not be enough energy from it to keep my laptop running all day. To do that, then I need two sets of solar panels for interconnection. But I still get a fee, I can use to slow the release of the battery in my laptop and extend my total playing time. But when they are off, it would be sufficient for charging. Recent laptops are more energy efficient, so it may be equally or more than enough power for you.

You’d be surprised what you can do with that. I read online about a woman who lives outside the network and the power of his fridge with it.

In all, it’s top-of-the-line for folding solar panels Travel staff. A steal at this price.

  3. These panels foldable Brunton produce energy more safely than any other small portable. It is really surprising in this context – about 3 amps of power in direct sunlight.

In any case, I must have fried the voltage regulator on me, because it gives 26volts, even when connected devices and batteries are just trying to 12 volts. I ran to the meter, with pliers, with one volt, which power the panel, before entering a Brunton SOLO 15W (12V battery lithium polymer).

Meter still read 26 volts or more than 12 volts. Panel “governor” is supposed to release 12Volt if any unit needs, huh?

A handbook for individuals 15 says it can not be connected directly to a portable sign Solaris. . . but the 12-volt batteries, including SOLO 15, simply can not handle a load current of 26 volts. It will destroy the battery, and I’ve already done it once. . .

I still connect to a 12V battery with the polarity of a chance, so that might controller chips. But one day I’ll get another Solaris 52 – a new set. I’ll connect to a Brunton SOLO 15 and see if the incoming and outgoing voltage is “regulated” to 12 volts before I do anything else to the panel.

I’ll give you an update after this little experiment.

It would be really nice if it does not automatically down to 12V, without needing an external 24V to 12V converter, as two of these panels on new Solaris 52 could out the best portable 12-volt source of power for the money – Duracell 600 (Xantrex Duracell 600 label) – only a few hours (hypothetically – be able to confirm a few days).

Two big batteries operate more power hungry laptops 12 hours, and Mac is twice as long. They are 28Ah juice. If you have four Duracell 600 is to capture and store all panels Solaris power they can generate in a day. . . you should be able to keep the laptop going 24 hours from the sun stored energy only. A 600 Duracell costs only $ [. . . ].

It’s very sad that the Brunton Solo 15 Lithium battery 12V is so fragile (and costs $ [...]), because they are so light and small. . . two of them (hypothetically), almost as much power (24Ah) as Duracell 600s (28Ah). . . one fifth by weight, and half less.

When I say “weak” I mean it is not easily broken by rough handling. They are actually very strong in this area. Concerns how fragile the battery no longer works correctly after a few uses, especially when they are drained completely during the load of a laptop, or perhaps taken too much excitement from a malfunctioning Solaris 52 Panel . . .

Brunton has a winner on the SOLO-15 cells to change and get better circuitry to protect against things that will damage normal cells: heavy pollution, and more – the limit voltage during charging.

With the Solaris 52 foldable panel itself. . . Conclusion:

Even if I fried the built-in voltage by my own fault, or voltage regulators are not always what they should, so I have to use a small external 24V to 12V converter, as the one made by Velleman (cost less than [...]). $. . then it is still a great product.

There are a lot of upside. My favorite is so small it reduces to the car. I also like how fast I can put in place on a windshield of the vehicle toward the sun. Then the energy Back My Dashboard processed into juice for my laptop. . .

Hopefully Brunton partners in China to start acting more like the Japanese and refine the quality of the winners, rather than simply be doing more of them and make faster and less expensive. Focus on quality and improving function. Then you have some very popular products essential for people who might want to use their laptops in the wild. . . like me.

    Updated:

Solaris 52 is really powerful. . . but it may be too strong for many gadgets. I just received the Solaris 52 seconds and tested it in different ways in direct sunlight. I had to try a brand new, straight from the box to make sure that I would not have affected the results of one I thought I had accidentally damaged. . . But the new brand behaves exactly the same way. . . so I do not damage the first afterall. It’s a good thing and a bad thing. It’s a bad thing, because Solaris 52 is certainly not a “solar panels 12 volt… They really should not call it that. This statement is dangerously misleading.

Solaris 52 goes far beyond direct sunlight 12Volt under normal conditions (more than twice as high voltage, in fact). Most units will fry if the 12V power input 16VDC “Solaris 52 Package himself said tension varies with the amount of sunlight, but does not mean the end will be settled in 12Volt if connected to a device that requires only 12 volts. No, the committee can distinguished, and he hit a connected entity with which the tension generated – up to 26VDC. It can easily go up to 26VDC in full sun.

The only way to reduce voltage about 12 volts, without a converter is to have two devices connected 12Volt same time (there are two (2) power ports on Solaris 52). It will break the tension nicely at about 12 volts per port. .. but it also affects the environment as amplifiers.

Sometimes you want to have any amplifier drives a single 12 volt battery!
< ; br /> This must be what other users are doing – they must use two power ports at the same time, to obtain 12 volts with half the amps… because otherwise it would be a lot of units damaged there, and some customers very angry. I would not be a customer service person for Brunton, because the manual because it is not enough to warn users of what can happen.

I will soon get a converter 24VDC to 12VDC good, and then I will be back Brunton “Solar Controller” because it does not regulate voltage / current transformation to higher than Solaris 52 will be extinguished. The Brunton Solar Controller will be damaged by the Solaris 52 in full sun, while charging a battery 12 volts wide.

Package for Solar Controller said that the only use with 12 volt solar panels. . . It is mainly designed to avoid under-pricing (in terms of amps) 12 volt batteries, large size, such as caravans and cabins and boats.

A manual for the Brunton Solo 15 Lithium can certainly say connect a Solaris 26 (no signs of Solaris 52) Sun for her. . . Solaris 52 is not mentioned at all.

In short, a very powerful portable solar panels, but “12 volt” output is not regulated, either as an open procedure in progress, or devices power outage. To use it safely and in full sun, you must work two aircraft simultaneously 12Volt. . . or you must use a converter 24VDC to 12VDC so it does not harm any of your gadgets.

I am really surprised that the manual in the Solaris 52 does not provide sufficient guidance in this regard. It would not be so difficult. Another point he would guys!
