The Power of Tidal Energy

The Earth is the subject of a tremendous wave of global warming with the carbon emitted by burning fossil fuels to produce electricity and when used in vehicles for transportation. In addition, sources of fossil fuels decreases rapidly with increasing energy demand in the country’s modernization.
Therefore, scientists and researchers worldwide are thinking and looking for alternative sources of energy that are renewable and exist in nature. And this source of energy is the energy that exists in areas of high tides.
France has the advantage of energy present in tidal creeks and estuaries since 1966. Canada and Russia have followed suit and have also managed to generate electricity from tidal waves. Basically, it is possible to operate and generate electricity from places where there is a wide range of tide.
This tidal wave of energy used to capture through the water so it is used to turn turbines. The energy produced is released through the tidal barrages that are in both directions. However, evidence of the implementation of tidal energy technologies in the world who have little potential because of its environmental constraints.
Another cause is due to the low potential for tidal waves it is producing electricity more efficiently if the electricity produced in bursts on the shortcomings of perhaps six hours. But this is not possible because it is the scope of programs of the energy of tides that prevent the use of tidal energy.
This represents a new form of technology has been developed to take advantage of this tidal power. This new technology is in the form of tidal power generators, which tend to draw energy from the underwater currents. We can say that the principle is used here in these steam generators are similar to tidal technology of wind energy, propelled by the wind.
In such cases, the generation of tidal power, the greater the density of water, the better the potential of a single generator which generates a high degree of influence. But now the technology of tidal currents in its nascent stage where there is much research to do before we can say that the technology of tidal currents is an important and help produce energy.
There are a few prototypes have been designed to exploit the tidal power holds great promise in this direction. Such a prototype is 300 kW of power Seaflower screw propeller type turbine was tested off the coast of Devon in England in 2003. Another prototype 150 kW oscillating hydroplane is a device, the Stingray, which has been tested off the Scottish coast.
Hydro Venturi is another prototype of Colombia, which is slotted to be tested in the Bay of San Francisco soon. Besides all this, the Canadian company Blue Energy has ideas about the installation of large networks of tidal current products on their tidal fence at various locations around the world. These units are planned to be built after a design of vertical axis turbine that more tidal energy is produced efficiently in the world.
