Types Of Renewable Energy Explained

As the world reaches its energy crisis, we must reduce our reliance on renewable energy, and produce renewable energy on a large scale.

So far, there are four main types of renewable energy, we can produce: wind, solar, hydro and geothermal.

Wind energy: Wind turbines have been around for millennia, beyond the birth of Christ. Over the years they have been used for pumping water, boat slip and grind flour. But at the end of the industrial revolution made windmills to generate electricity.

Although many people consider windmills are decorated in Holland or small wind pumps on farms, they have evolved considerably over the last ten years. Now wind power could generate thousands of megawatts, and when used in small domestic wind turbines can replace conventional energy sources, help households get rid of the network.

Solar: The sun is the most accessible form of energy there, so we should use it more widely. And as technology progresses, households are provided with a number of ways to harness the power of the sun. These methods include solar electricity, solar water heaters, solar dryers and solar cookers.

Thanks to solar electricity and heating systems, they are both profitable and good for the environment, they require little maintenance and help you save on your electricity bill. Solar cookers are a very healthy cooking because they cook at a lower temperature, can retain their vitamins and minerals. They are also highly mobile, making them ideal for travelers and campers.

Hydropower: a preliminary hydro or water power is used in industry for rivers and waterfalls running water which could then be used to move water for irrigation or grind flour.

Today is used in hydroelectric dams to generate electricity for homes and businesses. Hydroelectric power is produced on a large scale in which dammed the water passed through the turbine which turns a chassis that break through. The best example is hydroelectricity from Hoover Dam, which was built to supply electricity to Las Vegas. In fact, hydropower is effective is popular today as it represents over 90% of renewable energy in the world.

There were some social and environmental issues of building hydroelectric dams such as every village and community is flooded by the dam, and walls to prevent certain species of fish swimming upstream to spawn.

Geothermal Power: Geothermal energy normally produced in areas where volcanic activity in progress, where the magma relatively close to the surface. One example is Iceland, where much of its electricity produced by volcanic geysers.

Here are the major power plants built during the geysers, where fast-moving hot steam geysers drive large turbines to produce electricity. To expedite the process, water is often reinjected into the geysers to make more steam, which is then used to power turbines once, making it an endless cycle.

Well, this concludes our brief overview of the 4 main types of renewable energy. You can find more detailed information on each type by reading our other items or visit our website at the link below.
