What Is Renewable Energy? How Does It Work? Is It Affordable? Is It Really Good For The Environment?

All good questions, there are many advertisements in all media today, urging the virtues of “Green Power” and the promise that if you think you’ll save money, help reduce global warming save the planet, or just be an all around better person. Are they right?

Renewable energy in many forms, exists and has been used in some cases hundreds if not thousands of years, in fact, as long as our planet and the sun took place, they will be here as long as our planet and the sun continues. So if this is true, why are they not used more often? The answer is simple to find and use of fossil fuels is simpler and less expensive, however, makes the fossil fuels that pollute our environment, and they are exhausted in the course of the future.

The first use of the sun, early man was probably too light and passive solar heating, he may have lived in a cave whose opening was intended to harness the sun’s heat and light that He may have even put a rock on the opening that would warm all day and then emit radiant heat at night. Around the same manner as free radiation from the sun’s heat is used today. Someone, unknown to history, found a clear crystal of any kind and found that letting the sun through the heat generated, and now they could create fire at will.

For about the last 100 years, people have studied and tried to perfect the conversion of solar energy electricity cheap and useful. 100 one hundred years, a very short time, and this experience has been, and makes huge profits, but there is still much more expensive to produce solar panels and other components needed to produce solar energy than the simple buy cheap energy for our local power company.

Wind energy has always been fast boat led by wind, where humans, of course, be the beginning of May to discover many other parts of our world. In the past, we had no clothes dryer to the outside and let the wind and the sun do the work. For centuries, windmills were used to grind grain, pump water and many other uses. Of course, the sun is also partly responsible for creating the wind.

Hydropower, which is often called Hydro has also been a long time to do things like moving the ball down the factory used the power of water to cut, operates factories of basic grains for food, and still today. Hydroelectric is the true marvels of technology, and has been used for many years. As the sun evaporates the water and then deposit it at a higher altitude in the form of rain or snow, and gravity, it moves downstream, there will be hydropower.

Geothermal energy has been around as long as the earth has been here. The Earth is a huge furnace producing a temperature of over 9000 degrees Celsius in the center. There are places in the world where this heat is very close to the surface, making it very easy to use. Geothermal energy is not limited only to the baths of mineral water hot turbine parts of the western United States, in most countries of Iceland extensive use of geothermal energy for heat and wind to produce electricity. Home heating and cooling and hot water supply is very simple and cost-effectiveness achieved through the use of technology Geo heat pump.

Bioenergy, the energy use of live recently, things like wood, grass, corn, etc. are fast becoming an increasingly important energy puzzle. Consider ethanol as an additive to gasoline and reduce harmful emissions. Home fire is another example of the use of biofuels.

Research and development of these and others to find renewable fuels continues non-stop and help humanity to meet their energy needs now and in the future.
